author of American Assassination
(The Strange Death of Sen. Paul Wellstone).
He is also featured in Snowshoefilms’ documentary, Wellstone:
They Killed Him.In his Tribute
talk, Fetzer recalled the words of Pres. Reagan’s CIA director,
Bill Casey: “The CIA will have succeeded when everything that
the American people believe is false.”In under 20 minutes,
Prof. Fetzer exposes the absurd official story (FBI, NTSB, NIST
& the Media) the American people have been fooled into
believing about the Wellstone crash. The CIA’s success is nearly a done deal, and groups like
the Wellstone Action are gatekeepers reinforcing the trance state. As Fetzer says in conclusion, ‘Minnesota nice isn’t gonna

NOVITSKY - WELLSTONE MEMORIAL LECTURE
Mark Novitsky, national security
whistleblower, offers one of the most compelling reasons Senator
Paul Wellstone was publicly assassinated on October 25, 2002. Just
eight days earlier, on October 17, the maverick senator introduced
the Consumer Shareholder Protection Act, SB 3143. A couple of days
before that, Dick Cheney, the president of vice, summoned Paul
Wellstone to his office, threatening him to back off. As
whistleblower Colleen Rowley said at the Oct. 23,
2012 "Honoring Wellstone" event in Minneapolis,
this was 'mafia style' politics. Murder most foul. The evidence
mounts. Wellstone was looking into 9/11, something that Cheney
couldn't allow. And Mark Novitsky was in the position to
know that Wellstone's proposed legislation would have been a major obstacle to the financial crimes and bailouts on the agenda for the very near future.
Wellstone, too, as Novitsky and Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton note, would have been a major Presidential challenger to the treacherous John Kerry in 2004. As Mark Novitsky observes, 'means, motive and opportunity' are the primary factors in investigating a crime. Novitsky's insight adds powerfully to understanding motive in the murder of Paul Wellstone and seven others on that fateful plane.

HONORING WELLSTONE: A Tribute, Questions, and
a Call for Justice (Minneapolis Wellstone Memorial Event, Oct 23,
2012), hosted by SEC Whistleblower Mark Novitsky.Former FBI attorney, Colleen Rowley reveals her first
encounter with Paul Wellstone where the senator was one of four
who urged FBI Director Robert Mueller not to fire Rowley for her
timely whistle blowing (the other three: Chuck Grassley (Ia),
Patrick Leahy (Vt), and Mark Dayton, Wellstone’s Minnesota
colleague in the Senate). At her first meeting with Wellstone,
Colleen was surprised to get a hug from the senator that lifted
her off her feet. Wellstone celebrated bravery with an enthusiasm
that was contagious.

THE IRON RANGE -
They Killed Him (chapter 1)
Who was Sen. Paul Wellstone? Why would anyone want to remove, let alone kill him? What was at stake? Part One tells the story of who he was, his relationship was to the people of the Iron Range, northern Minnesota - as well as to the nation and world.
In Minnesota, Wellstone was regarded with love or profound respect, even from the Fox News-watchers who were primed to think he was Enemy Number One. The three fundamental questions in investigating a crime are motive, means, and opportunity. There was something Wellstone was doing, questions he was asking, that he had to be stopped publicly; his death was a warning: don't ask these questions; don't look into this. In looking into this story, we see how honest cops are frozen out, witnesses are intimidated into silence and the public is fearful of thinking such terrible thoughts about its own government.
PAUL WELLSTONE -
They Killed Him
Sen. Wellstone, Democrat, Minnesota, made his anti-war speech in
the Senate on October 3, 2002. Three weeks later he was dead,
victim (along with wife and daughter, three aides, pilot and
co-pilot) of an assassination. Vice President Cheney personally
threatened Wellstone to shut his mouth. About what? This 2-hour
documentary tries to answer that question and others about
Wellstone's death and the non-investigation and cover-up.
WITNESSES - Wellstone:
They Killed Him (chapter
The Wellstone plane (41 Bravo Echo) flew over Rod Allen's home, nearly hitting the trees. This was 5 miles from Eveleth-Virginia Airport. There were no running lights, no strobeing lights, nothing. The turboprop was dropping, flying sideways-crabbed to the right. The eye-witness thought nobody was in control of the plane. And in the nearby woods, Mike Zupetz was scouting out a good spot for deer hunting season coming up next week when he heard rapidly repeating shots from a high-powered weapon. Then he heard the crash. The FBI told witness Mike Zupetz to keep quiet. His testimony subsequently didn't appear in the NTSB Report. Rod Allen's testimony about popping noise coming, perhaps, from the plane, was ignored. Pilot Gary Ulman expected to see black smoke from a plane crash, not the grey-white smoke that he saw. Ulman and Fayal Township fire chief Shykes got a close look at the melted fuselage. UPS pilot Ray Juntunen testifies that the weather was no problem a little earlier when he landed a Queen Air, sister-craft to the Wellstone King Air A-100.
FIRST RESPONDERS -
Wellstone: They Killed Him (chapter 4) Fire-fighters and EMTs
were on the scene about 2 hours after the plane crashed. The fire
had gutted the fuselage and was still raging out of control. It
was obvious to pilot Gary Ulman when he first spotted the plane
from the air, that nothing could survive the fire raging in the
fuselage below. Fayal Township Fire Dept. Chief Steve Shykes, when
he flew over the scene with Gary Ulman to direct his emergency
crew, agreed: nothing had survive that fire. That was the verdict
of first-responders Therese Elverum, Nick Johnson, Erik Jankila,
Laura Korpi and DNR fire-fighter Tom Nikolanci. After surveying
the scene, and making futile attempts to put out the fire, the
first-responders decided to just let fire burn itself out. The
spot fires from kerosene-based jet fuel that spilled from the
severed wings were very localized and easily extinguished. But the
'metal fires,' of the fuselage area were burning with a blue-white
flame. The rescue team was told to regard the situation as a crime
scene: no press, no one goes in or out. Though only the NTSB had
the mandate to do any investigation, the FBI was in charge, having
arrived shortly after the first-responders. They were on the scene
a full eight hours before the NTSB.
THE FIRE - Wellstone: They Killed Him (chapter 5) How was it that the fire raged for 7.5 hours? Why did it burn with a blue-white flame, blue gray smoke, melting the fuselage by the time pilot Gary Ulman made his first pass over the Wellstone plane? Looking for the crashed plane, Ulman expected to see black smoke - the sort of smoke from a kerosene-based fire, not grey-white smoke. And what could possibly have been the source of the energy that melted the aluminum, copper and magnesium? The first-responders concurred that the fire was an electrical fire, a metal fire. Chemistry Professor Ron Caple explains that the kerosene-based jet fuel of the King Air A-100 turboprop could NEVER reach the temperatures to melt the metals; there had to be some other source of energy.
And Prof. Jim Fetzer, along with physicist John Costella, note that the fuel for the King Air 100 is stored in the wings. The wings were severed on impact. And clearly, from photographic evidence and first-responder witnesses, there were nearby ground fires from the spilled fuel from the wings, but the raging fire was in cockpit and cabin. There was no source of fuel for this fire that raged for 7.5 hours. The firemen and emergency medical technicians tried to put it out, as did the crew from the Minnesota Department of Resources. No questions purportedly were asked by the media about the source of energy for the fire. Some suggestions: after a carefully calibrated ground-delivered electromagnetic pulse knocks out the plane's electronics (about 7 miles out), some type of thermite paint on the interior of the fuselage gets rid of the evidence, igniting shortly after impact.
- Wellstone: They Killed Him (chapter
6) The official story of the Wellstone crash was that it was caused by "pilot error." This probably wasn't the first choice, but the weather was too calm, ice wasn't a problem, the plane was in good shape. The official story is that both pilots ignored bells and whistles and screaming passengers and just let the plane stall, no real rhyme or reason, after saying things were ok, seven miles from destination (at 3500 feet). To question this silly explanation is to be denigrated as a conspiracy theorist. The system works pretty well if the few facts that emerge are lost in a maelstrom of rumor and ad hominem. The FBI decreed just hours after the crash that there was no conspiracy (in order to preempt the conspiracy theories).
Those brave people not sufficiently intimidated by the FBI's decree (sort of a hypnotic command) who brought contradictory
information to law enforcement officers that they knew and (sometimes) trusted, were taken to the FBI who intimidated them and lied to them. "Don't say anything. We'll get back to you." Then the entire FBI investigation does not appear in the 3700-page National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) report that physicist John Costella read and dissects for us. Was there a crime, did two or more persons conspire? Motive, means, opportunity? According to the NTSB's charter, while working on an investigation, you can't have a conspiratorial thought in your head. If that happens, you must report it to the FBI who will probably shoot you, or something.
But 7 miles out, no more communication from 41 Bravo Echo. The plane changes course, begins losing speed and altitude, and crabs to the right (flies sideways). In just over a minute, the King Air 100 is just clearing the 60-ft. tree tops of the Allen family's rural trailer home, five miles south east Eveleth Virginia Airport. Landing gear down, but no lights, twin turboprop engines "spooling down." What evidence is there to question the official story? The evidence suppressed by the FBI and the NTSB, partly revealed here.
CONSPIRACY - Wellstone:
They Killed Him ( chapter
First-hand testimony from Wellstone eye-witnesses Rod Allen and UPS pilot Ray Juntunen. The Wellstone plane had no running lights, nearly hit the trees on Rod Allen's property, and was cocked to the right. There was no wind that day, October 25, 2002, when the Wellstone plane was brought down. Visibility was good, no ice problem. Rod Allen and family witnessed a white van hightailing it out of a forest management road just 2.5 miles from the crash site. Both the FBI and the NTSB ignored Allen's testimony. The FBI told witness Mike Zupetz to keep his mouth shut about what he heard that morning (high powered shots), and his testimony was not included in the voluminous NTSB report issued a year after the crash. Chapter 7 features author Jim Fetzer, physicist John Costella and pilots Don Sipola and Cliff
EXECUTIVE ASSASSINATION RING - Wellstone:
They Killed Him ( chapter
8) - Seymour Hersh, on March 10, 2009, revealed the existence of an "Executive Assassination Ring" which targeted "domestic enemies." According to Hersh, the CIA-connected operation reported to Vice President Dick Cheney. The ring was, it's reported, 'shut down' due to the problem of 'collateral damage.' Were the other passengers and pilot and co-pilot 'collateral damage' in the 'executive assassination" of Paul
THE FBI - Wellstone:
They Killed Him ( chapter
On October 25, 2002, the FBI arrived about 2 hours after the Wellstone plane crashed, a special team assembled from "all over the country." Some 15 FBI agents were at the site some 8 hours before the NTSB, yet they are not mentioned in the NTSB report! What were they doing there? They had four primary objectives: 1) find any recording devices, including a cockpit voice recorder); 2) squelch rumors of foul play; 3) schmooze first-responders; 4) intimidate eye-witnesses. John Costella, who read the 2500-page NTSB document, says the FBI is not in the report. And yet it was the FBI that local law enforcement delivered all the witnesses to.
Four Arrows (aka Prof. Don Trent Jacobs), co-author with Jim Fetzer of American Assassination (The Strange Death of Senator Paul Wellstone) questions lead NTSB investigator of the Wellstone crash, Frank Hilldrup, about how it was that the FBI did an investigation before the NTSB got there (They did no investigation, answers Hilldrup). Then how was it that the FBI said there was 'no terrorist involvement' in the crash without doing an investigation? Hilldrup could only say that the FBI issued the statement in order to squelch conspiracy theories!
"PILOT ERROR" - Wellstone:
They Killed Him ( chapter
The NTSB said "pilot error" was the cause of the crash of 41 Bravo Echo around 10:20 a.m. October 25, 2002. The pilots, after radio contact seven miles out, just stopped paying attention, let the plane drift radically off course, going too low, too slow, and stalling. If the eight people on the plane were conscious after minute 10:18 (the probable time of the the EMP hit), they had to be frantic; the plane was more or less drifting, according to witnesses, at tree-top level. But there was no emergency call. Nothing. But the possibility of foul play was excluded from the NTSB investigation. The pilots were the patsies. At least the insurance companies compensated the families, to some degree. The pilots' families got nothing, only ignominy and grief. A proper investigation would reveal that pilot Richard Conry and co-pilot Michael Guess were just as much victims as the other six persons on board the King Air 100 twin-engine turboprop.
MOUSSAOUI CONNECTION - Wellstone:
They Killed Him ( chapter
12) Zacarias Moussaoui, purportedly the "20th hijacker" for the false flag 9/l1 attack, was linked to Michael Guess, co-pilot of the Wellstone Plane, 41 Bravo Echo, that mysteriously crashed just short of the runway in northern Minnesota, October 25, 2002, about 10:22 a.m., killing all eight on board. What was Zacarias Moussaoui's connection to the crash? It was one that the FBI was thoroughly familiar with, since the FBI office in Minneapolis investigated Moussaoui in early 2001, and learned that he'd gotten the embargoed flight software from none other than Michael Guess, co-pilot for the Wellstone plane. In mid 2001, the Minneapolis FBI office made over 70 requests to FBI higher-ups to search Moussaoui's computer. No dice. FBI agent Colleen Rowley wanted to have Moussaoui's apartment searched. FBI HQ in DC said no.
Eventually, on Aug. 16, Moussaoui was clearly too public to be of use as a patsy. He was arrested, his computer searched, 747 flight simulator software was discovered. Where had he gotten it? From Michael Guess, member of the Pan Am flight school staff, who had lent or sold it to
Moussaoui. This connection made Guess very nervous; he was beholden to the FBI. Part 9 of this documentary demonstrates that the FBI covered-up and hid testimony (and, most likely), evidence. It's very possible, therefore, as Jim Fetzer states, that the FBI special team used Guess in some way on the fatal flight. One thing is certain, by 6 p.m. October 25, 2002, FBI Agent McCabe is saying loudly there was "no terrorist involvement in the crash." Perhaps that's just what they say when they know it was one of their ops (i.e., Executive Assassination Ring). Physicist John
Costella, who carefully read the 2500-page NTSB Report for this documentary, notes there was no mention of the
Moussaoui-Guess connection. In two instances, Congressman Jim Oberstar in effect covered for the FBI, refusing to act when Pan Am flight school staff came to him about a suspicious character
(Moussaoui), and then rebuffing a constituent and Mn State Rep. Tom Rukavina about the FBI ignoring serious testimony about the Wellstone crash.
EMP WEAPON - Wellstone:
They Killed Him ( chapter
13) What brought 41 Bravo Echo down? It wasn't the weather, nor was it pilot error. Everything indicates it was some type of high-powered directed energy weapon, the kind that Sec. of Defense Donald Rumsfeld alludes to in the early 2003 Pentagon press briefing. EMP WEAPON, part 13 of 15-parts, draws on the work of Professor Jim Fetzer (U. of Minnesota, Duluth) and physicist colleague John Costella, as well as author Loring Wirbel, US Tools of Space Supremacy. At least two witnesses testified to the FBI that they heard loud shots (what sort of sound would an emp burst have on impact with the plane?). The NTSB didn't investigate the possibility. As Professor Fetzer says, according to their mandate, they are not allowed to. The FBI suppressed evidence from witnesses that shots were fired and a highly suspicious white van - capable of facilitating an EMP weapon system -- fled the area from which the shots were heard. The FBI, before the raging fire was out, announced publicly that there was 'no terrorist involvement' in the crash.
THE HIT - Wellstone:
They Killed Him ( chapter
At 10:18, the pilot expresses no difficulty, no reported problems, "no expression of concern." That's the statement of Carol Carmody, acting chairman of the NTSB and lead investigator in the Wellstone crash. Never mind that higher-ups monitoring the CBS/Fox News TV feed deleted 17 key words from Carmody's report. TV viewers wouldn't get the impression that in just four minutes from the crash, everything was fine, normal. And it was at 10:18 that John Ongaro's cell phone went haywire as he was driving north on Highway 53, near Eveleth-Virginia airport. AND SEVEN MILES OUT, pilot Richard Conry contacted the airport, clicking up the runway lights, saying they were coming in. Everything is normal, up to that point, observes airport manager Gary
Then, no more contact. But two minutes later the plane is flying frighteningly slow over Rod Allen's home. It has no running lights. It's cocked to the right. It nearly clips the trees. What happened just after 10:18? There are two more pieces of circumstantial evidence of a pulse-type weapon being used on the plane. A Duluth-based physician contacts Professor
Fetzer, reporting that several of his patients living just south of the crash area told of their electronic garage doors being inexplicably opened. And area residents tell Rod Allen of garage doors opening in front of them, or when they returned home that day, October 25, 2002. And last, physicist John
Costella, pouring through the 2500-page NTSB report, discovers a footnote where an NTSB investigator asks a government meteorologist whether a pocket of water in otherwise ice-laden cloud in the upper atmosphere was "normal." The scientist responds to the question: NO, IT'S NOT NORMAL The question of the hole in the upper layer of clouds over Eveleth that morning was just dropped, only a footnote. Like so much of the detail in the NTSB report, it was not followed up on, no investigation.
COVER-UP - Wellstone:
They Killed Him ( chapter
As Jim Fetzer notes, the cover-up is the key to an assassination. Will the press go along? Will law enforcement obey the chain of command (FBI at the top)? Will the public - disoriented by 9/11 and the White House/neo-con hysteria to attack Iraq - accept the decision not to have a public hearing of the crash of Senator Paul Wellstone? The NTSB holds hearings only in "high profile cases," NTSB investigator tells Four Arrows, co-author of American Assasssination...
Addendum: Congressman Demands Wellstone Crash Public Hearing
Rep. Jim Oberstar gets tough with NTSB Chairman Mark Rosenker, demands public hearing, "I'm not asking you, I'm telling you, a public hearing will dispel, go a long way to dispel, the questions raised..." Of course Jim Oberstar, head of the House Committee on Transportation (until his defeat in 2010), raised no questions about the Wellstone crash on October 25, 2002. Oberstar avoided State Rep. Tom Rukavina about key witness testimony; stalled on receiving information about Mohamed
Moussaoui, the alleged 9/11 20th hijacker; and rebuffed U. of Minnesota professor Jim Fetzer's evidence indicating suspicious local electromagnetic anomalies just minutes before the plane crashed. The plane crashed in the Hibbing congressional district, represented by Oberstar. (APPENDIX A Wellstone: They Killed Him)
