The War on
Freedom:
How and Why America Was Attacked, Sept. 11, 2001

In preparation for an interview, we read Ahmed’s book via Internet
where it was doubly easy to click on his sources. The book further
confirmed our view that the Bush Administration is either colossally
incompetent (and should be impeached), or should be indicted for
criminal negligence for its role in 9/11.
Like hundreds of thousands in the US and around the world, we sat at
computers for days and months after 9/11, reading and filling
three-ring binders then cardboard boxes with printouts: print and
electronic media websites devoted solely or partially to the
9/11cover-up. We collected pounds of printouts of published articles
and analysis and discovered many new writers and/or activists such
as John McMurtry, Jared Israel, Michel Chossudovsky, Greg Palast,
John Pilger, John K. Cooley, James Bamford, John Leonard, Cynthia
McKinney.*
We haven’t gone back through the boxes of files, folders and tapes
marked INS, FBI, CIA, NSA, FAA, FEMA, OHS, INS, ISI (Pakistani),
Ashcroft, Air Force Intelligence, Mossad, etc. -- and probably
won’t -- because Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed did it for us, and more, in
The War on Freedom: How and Why America was Attacked Sept 11, 2001.
Here is what three deservedly well-known people write of the book:
“…immensely important and useful. You look at the right subjects
and report a number of things I had missed entirely…We need more
people doing the important research you have done.” Peter Dale
Scott, Co-founder of the Peace and Conflict Studies Program, U of C,
Berkeley.
“The most complete book I know of, summarizing the relevant
background and foreground intersecting upon the events of September
11, 2001…A tour de force in every respect: organization,
methodology, timeliness, clarity of purpose and of scope, activist
commitment to more inquiry, evenness, relative comprehensiveness…I
can’t say how much I admire this work. It must be seen by as many
people as possible all over the world.” Barry Zwicker, Producer
and Host, MediaFile, Vision TV Insight; CBC-TV and CTV (Canada).
“This riveting and thoroughly documented study is a ‘must’
resource for everyone seeking to understand the attack on the World
Trade Center of New York, Sept. 11, 2001 and ‘America’s New
War’ since. It connects together over 10 years of relevant covert
actions and decisions by top-level U.S. security-state operations,
and organizes the whole into a coherent and devastating expose of
the real meaning and construction of the historic turn of ‘the war
against terrorism’ now rewriting laws and constitutions across
borders. For those who have seen or filed facts on these matters
from web-disclosures and scattered revelations of newspapers, this
volume provides the detailed documentation in a definitive and
masterful record.” Professor John McMurtry, Dept. of Philosophy,
Guelph University (Ontario)*.
It’s a reasonable assumption that indictments would follow if the
book gets into the hands of a sufficient number of men and women in
Congress. Instead we find the CIA (Foreign Denial and Deception
Committee) contemplating sending SWAT teams into journalists homes
“to stop these leaks (‘…war plans for the invasion of Iraq
[and] U.S. intelligence tracking Osama bin Laden’s wireless phone
calls…’).” (http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2002/7/26/180942.shtml)
Clearly there are brave people taking great risks, right now, to get
the real story to the world -- and much of it will be the
documentation for the full story outlined in the 400 page book, The
War on Freedom.
The US is at a dangerous precipice in its history. “The
Republican-controlled House on Friday [July 26] approved legislation
to create a Homeland Security Department, a plan to blend 170,000
federal employees from 22 agencies into a cohesive force to counter
future terrorist threats.”** A police state. The Nazis did it in
1933. It’s not a done deal, but the whole thing should be rejected
by the Senate, starting with the passage of the Roemer/Smith
Amendment calling for a full independent inquiry into 9-11.
A question for those who remember something of WW II history: Does
it matter who set the Reichstag Fire? The Fuhrer and Goebbels blamed
the communists and other critics (who was not for them was against
them) and hushed up the trial of the Dutch kid who did it -- but
courts were not yet under the direct control of the Third Reich, or
put another way, it was pre-Homeland Security Department.***
The US bombing other countries is legal, according to itself. Mass
murder in other countries by the US or its proxies is not illegal,
according to US law. But treason, in the form of aiding and abetting
the Sept. 11 Al Qaida (a large part of the documented content of The
War on Freedom) attack was illegal (as was the theft of the
election). It is very important that enough of us express enough
curiosity to obtain (and read) a copy of this very timely, scholarly
work by Mr. Ahmed.
